Solomon Motors Single Stableford Sat 27/05/2017

Another fantastic day for Golf a reasonable field of 88 starters and the course in great shape as usual. The Green staff are always doing things to improve our course and we should dip our hat to them as they pass. For those that don’t know besides looking after the course they are responsible for the Cricket Ground ,the Bowling Greens, the motel Grounds and the large area and gardens in front of the Club.Well done men I think you should ask the CEO for a raise seeing he is on the move just don’t tell him I said so.

Best of the day was a 46 pts from Vince Morris in C Grade a massive 6 shots clear of the next best Mark Baker with 40 pts.It was good to see Rob Nancarrow  join us for a round cost him a bit though he had to send the good Lady on a shopping outing so he could slip away.He must not have played for a while as his grips were very slippery and resulted in a few clubs sailing through the air!!!

A count back was needed to separate the first 3 in B Grade Chris Oliver coming up trumps with 39 pts and some more cash was collected inside.Well done Chris take it while you can.

This week is the first week of the “Kingtide Oysters” League Competition.Yes we might have a Sponsor coming on board. All Team Captains have been given a set of Rules,Draw and Teams. The Comp runs for two full Rounds,Semis and Final concluding in September.

Round 1   Saints   V’S  Bunnies        Tigers  V’S Panthers    Manly  V’s Dogs       Raiders  V’S  Eels

Tragic news for the Tigers who will be missing one of there higher paid players through injury for a couple of weeks.Raiders to show improved form with “Big Gun”Mick Edwards back, should prove too strong for the Eels,Saints should account for the disappointing Bunnies and the Manly Playboys should notch up a win against the ageing Bulldogs.

Next Saturday is also the Wray Owen Monthly Medal.

The Stranger.
