Finally the weather Gods looked favourably on us and 121 Golfers from 20 different Clubs took to the course that was once again presented in immaculate condition well done to Tony ,Chris and the rest of the Green Staff.
Main attention focused on the A Graders there were exactly 50,3 previous winners in the field hoping to be the first to make it a double and that is what Dave Laurie from the Goulburn Club did.A Worrigee Open record of 67, 3 shots clear of our own Callan Spreadbury with a fine 70 and Paul Fairall also with a 70 from Russell Vale Golf Club,
Luke Stevenson last years Champion although trying hard was 8 shots behind and the other previous Winner Troy Monie a further 2 shots.A special mention for Pete Hamilton a great round of 74 put him in 6th spot well in front of the more fancied Golfers some of them playing off 0.Who knows next year!!
Dave Laurie’s win was a popular one as Dave is a previous member of our Club,a wonderful Golfer and a great bloke.Dave when possible always attends these days and he’ll be back next year.
Our own Club Champion Mick Edwards shot a creditable 74,other good scores with in the Club were Clarrie Raymer 74,Kirk Brown79,George Kulscar 77,Jim Sach 77 .
